Release v5.6.0

Welcome to Faraday v5.6.0!

We’ve just released an update that brings significant improvements to Faraday, focusing on solving key challenges in vulnerability management. Here’s what’s new in Release 5.6.0 and Hotfix 5.6.1, and how these enhancements will make your workflow more efficient and secure:

Highlights

Enhanced Jira Integration

Our integration with Jira has been upgraded to fully support Jira Software Version 9.17.0. Work seamlessly with the latest updates of your favorite ticketing tool and remove any friction caused by outdated versions, making cross-team collaboration effortless.

New Bidirectional Support for the Status Field in GitLab

One of the biggest challenges in vulnerability management is ensuring that other departments take timely action on updates. With our new bidirectional integration with GitLab, this becomes a collaborative effort. You’re no longer alone, now security teams and developers can sync seamlessly, enabling faster mitigation of vulnerabilities across departments.

Precise Workspace Timestamps

We’ve improved the logic behind workspace updates, now offering precise timestamps that capture the exact moment you last modified or accessed your workspace data.  This is aimed at enhancing accountability and tracking in the vulnerability management lifecycle. Ensuring you have complete visibility into every change made within each workspace, keeping you fully informed at all times.

Vulnerabilities custom attributes can now be searchable using the search bar across any vulnerabilities view

New Access Tokens

Security and ease of integration have always been top priorities at Faraday. Our new Access Tokens simplify and secure authentication with external tools and APIs. These tokens allow you to interact with Faraday without needing to use your username and password for every operation. By leveraging token-based authentication, you can easily manage permissions, reduce the risks of compromised credentials, and improve the security of integrations with modern protocols.

Guided Search Bar and Improved Breadcrumb Navigation

We’ve enhanced breadcrumb navigation to provide a more intuitive and streamlined experience. This visual update gives you a clearer view of your location within the platform, helping you easily navigate between sections. Spend less time navigating and more time acting on the insights that matter.

New Plugins: OWASP Dependency Check & GitLeaks

We now support over 160 tools, including these two plugins:

OWASP Dependency Check: Automate your search for known vulnerabilities in project dependencies, helping you catch issues earlier in the development lifecycle.

GitLeaks: Detect secrets and sensitive information that may have been unintentionally committed to Git repositories.

These updates will significantly reduce the manual effort required in your vulnerability management process, making remediation faster and more effective across teams.

See you next time!
